Privacypolicy

Orange Mortgage Company is a licensed Ontario mortgage brokerage. We collect personal and financial information because we cannot arrange a mortgage without it. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and what you can ask us to do about it.

What we collect

Contact details, identification, employment and income information, credit history, details of your assets, debts and property, and the documents you send us in support of an application. Where you consent to a credit check, we obtain a credit report from Equifax or TransUnion.

Why we collect it

To assess your situation, to prepare and submit a mortgage application on your behalf, to meet legal and regulatory obligations including those under the Mortgage Brokerages, Lenders and Administrators Act, 2006 and anti-money-laundering rules, and to communicate with you about your file.

Who we share it with

Lenders and mortgage insurers we approach on your behalf, appraisers, your lawyer, and service providers who support our operations under confidentiality obligations. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

Consent

We collect and use your information with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by contacting us — though doing so during an active application will usually mean we can no longer act for you. Marketing and non-marketing communications are consented to separately, and neither is bundled into the other.

Communications and CASL

We send commercial electronic messages only where you have consented. Every marketing message identifies us and includes an unsubscribe mechanism. SMS consent for marketing is separate from SMS consent for file updates and appointment reminders; you can withdraw either without affecting the other. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe, or HELP for assistance.

Retention and security

We retain records for the period required by Ontario mortgage brokering legislation and applicable tax and anti-money-laundering rules, then securely destroy them. Access is restricted to people who need it to do their work.

Documents you upload

Documents sent through our secure upload page go directly into private, encrypted storage hosted in Canada. They are never sent by email and are never publicly accessible: each upload link works for one file and expires, and only authorized Orange Mortgage staff, signed in with a one-time code, can open them. Every view and download is logged.

Uploaded copies are permanently deleted from the upload system 90 days after you send them. Anything your mortgage file needs is kept in that file for as long as the law requires, as described above, then securely destroyed. You can ask us to delete your uploads sooner, unless we are legally required to keep them.

Our website host and email provider, which may process your name and contact details outside Canada to deliver the upload and notify our team, never receive the documents themselves.

Your rights

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, or make a complaint. Contact us and we will respond within the timeframes set by PIPEDA. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses only what is required to serve pages and, where enabled, privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful. We do not place advertising cookies without consent.
